Don't do it. Not before thinking of yourself first.
It's no doubt hard to hold your own when everyone around you is consuming crap.
And guess what, it's ok to consume crap every once in a while. An authoritarian diet that feels constraining is not one that's going to last.
So, go for it. Eat that piece of cake in the employee lounge . . . just don't make it a regular habit.
This is why it's so important to carry around your own snacks. When you feel the urge to slice yourself a piece of employee cake, dig into that container of home-prepared snacks instead.
Alluring abundant Americana exists around most every corner. But the American way is not succumbing to the pressures of the status quo. The American way is establishing your own criteria that fits your character.
So, yes, I know, the pressure to eat crappy crap is power because many people are doing it, but don't let other people's norms dictate yours.
